It will be a temporary space existing for a period of three months hosting contemporary art exhibitions, discursive events, music performances and many other cultural activities.

After three days of funding drive, The Living Room is beginning to make the transition from a dream we shared with our friends, to a reality we can share with everyone! Thank you so much, all of you who are helping bring The Living Room into existence!

Space is precarious

Just like in our own homes, The Living Room will be a space for congregation, for debate and inspiration created by its inhabitants; a place for emerging artists to develop their ideas, for established thinkers to meet their audience and for the visitor to engage in a truly contemporary experience.

The Living Room [secretly] goes public!!

Here it is!

On 12:01 the 1st of October 2010, I'm secretly, publicly bringing the Living Room into existence.  We're currently in the middle of an exciting weekend, preparing the program, budgets, funding applications, strategy and concept for the Living Room!!

Just to bring those of you out there reading this up to date, The Living Room is a new temporary modular art space in Amsterdam, born out of our desire to create.  Create together, and provide a place for those who create well to have an audience.  There will be a program of exhibitions, performances and discourse during the coming four months which will appear here in all shapes and forms.

To evoke a bit the sphere of the living room, I'd like to leave you with a few impressions. Enjoy!!
